Victim had knife held at throat

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery in Warrington over the weekend when a 22-year-old man had a knife held at his throat.
The incident took place at around 3.45am on Saturday (28 January) when the victim was walking home from Warrington town centre with his partner when he was approached and befriended by three men.
They walked across Bridgefoot and along Knutsford Road onto York Street. One of the men then threatened the victim ? pushing him onto the bonnet of a car, which was parked in the street.
He held a knife to the throat of the victim and demanded his personal property. The victim refused and the offenders fled the scene in the direction of Canterbury Street.
The first offender is described as white, approx 6? tall, with brown shaven hair and a large nose. He was wearing a grey top, dark trousers and Nike 110 trainers.
The second and third offenders are described as white men, of slim build, approx 5? 10″ tall, with short dark hair and wearing dark clothing.
DC Simon Fisher said: “Fortunately the victim was not injured as a result of the incident but he was left extremely shaken by his ordeal. We take all incidents of this nature extremely seriously and will do all we can to trace those responsible.
“We would urge anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch with us immediately. The offenders walked from the town centre with the victim and we would appeal to anyone who may have been out that night and has seen the 3 offenders in the area around that time to contact us.”
