Funding for Wire2Wolves project

THE Warrington Wolves Foundation has been awarded a grant from the Heritage Lottery for their proposed Wire2Wolves project.
The funding will allow the charity to employ a part time Heritage Officer, who will work with local community groups to educate them on the history of the club and the impact it has had on Warrington.
One of the main roles of the officer will be to coordinate the implementation of an interactive timeline that will be based within the South Stand at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. Local volunteers will deliver tours so that everyone has the opportunity to see the new structure, and not just those who attend match days.
Neil Kelly the Foundation Director for the Wolves Foundation said; “The project has been in the pipeline for a few years and we are thrilled to have been awarded the funding. It will enable us to not only create the timeline, but also to really involve our local community by listening to their stories and capturing this information so it can forever be on record and not lost.”
The Wolves Foundation would like to thank all those who contributed to the Survey Monkey, as well as the Warrington Museum, Cheshire Record Office, Warrington Wolves RLFC, Warrington Borough Council, Thorn Cross YOI, Fuzzy Duck, Sir Thomas Boteler, St Barnabas and the following individuals who gave up their time to be involved: Matthew Wilkinson, Bernie Lenihan, George Thornton and Ben Selwood.
