Driver trapped in car crash

A MOTORIST was trapped in his car after a collision with another car at Warrington.
Fire crews were called to the scene in Birchwood Way, Birchwood, and removed the roof of the car with specialist cutting equipment to enable the man to be taken to hospital by ambulance.
Firefighters from Warrington and Birchwood were involved in the operation.
Crews were also called to a house in Edward Gardens, Woolston after fire broke out in the rear garden.
The blaze, which involved a quantity of rubbish, spread to the rear of the house causing minor damage before firefighters, using a hose reel jet, extinguished it.
