Lymm hit rock bottom!

LYMM suffered a disappointing defeat to bottom of the league Altrincham Kersal who deserved their 20-10 victory as they were the better team on the day.
The home side had the upper hand throughout the first half, scoring three tries (one converted) and a penalty to go 20 points to nil in the lead at the break.
To their credit Lymm rallied in the second half, scoring two good tries through winger Adam Fletcher (60 mins) and lock-forward Alex Bennett (75 mins).
Lymm nearly scored a third try with the last and best move of the match, when strong running from centre Adam Ferguson and good support play from full-back Joe Knowles opened up the line for flanker Jake Ashall. Determined defence from Altrincham Kersal kept him out and denied Lymm a losing bonus point.
Lymm slip to sixth place in the league. Altrincham Kersal remain bottom, but will take confidence from their performance in this match into the remaining games of the season.
Lymm have a good chance to get back into winning ways and to revert their perennial mid-season dip in form, when they entertain West Hartlepool, at home, next week. It will be a tough match.
West Hartlepool will be as equally keen as Altrincham Kersal to avenge their defeat by Lymm earlier in the season and appear in good form, narrowly losing to second-placed Rossendale, away at Rossendale, today.
