A MAN was arrested at Warrington today after a seven-hour stand-off with bailiffs trying to evict him from a house.
Police forced entry to the house at 4pm and arrested the man for causing an affray.
Officers had been standing by at the house, in Ribchester Gardens, Culcheth since early this morning after they were asked to assist bailiffs.
The ambulance service was also on stand-by at the house.
A police spokeswoman said it was not believed the man had been armed. But he was refusing to leave the house.
Officers tried to reason for him for most of the day. But the man, who was alone in the house, would not co-operate.
