Blaze at Wolves' stadium

FIVE fire appliances raced to the scene when a blaze was reported at Warrington Wolves’ Halliwell Jones stadium in Winwick Road, Warrington.
Two fire engines from Warrington, one each from Birchwood and Stockton Heath and an aerial appliance from Stockton Heath were sent to the scene.
The blaze was in a kitchen and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished it use one hose reel jet. No one was hurt.
In a separate incident, firefighters were called to Manchester Road, Woolston early this morning after a car careered off the road and collided with a tree. Two people were reported trapped.
But in fact, two men were able to scramble out of the car. They received treatment from paramedics, but are not believed to have been seriously hurt.
