POLICE today appealed for help from the public following an assault on a woman at Warrington.
The incident took place on Thursday October 13 at 9.15pm on Cromwell Avenue between the Old Hall roundabouts.
The 32-year-old woman was walking her dog along the footpath towards the Peace Centre and also had her 10-year-old daughter with her.
They were approached by an unknown man who was jogging in the opposite direction. He shouted at the woman and then pushed her in the chest, forcing her backwards.
The offender then kicked the dog twice and kicked the woman on the lower leg causing bruising to her left shin.
The whole incident was witnessed by the woman’s daughter. She and her mother were both extremely distressed by the attack.
The offender continued jogging towards ASDA on Cromwell Avenue. He was last seen entering the trees between Shackleton Close and Ladywood Road before disappearing. He was later seen between Shackleton and Ladywood.
Police say the man was around 6ft tall and was wearing a blue hooded top, dark shorts and white running shoes.
