Doorstep scam warning

1

RESIDENTS of Lymm have been warned of a possible doorstep scam.
A man has been visiting homes in the village and offering free draw tickets with prizes of a Nissan Micra car or £6,000 in cash.
He assures householders he is not selling anything but asks for a name and telephone number so he can inform them in the event of them winning.
But later a salesman either calls or visits with a hard-sell technique, trying to sell various household products.
In some cases it has taken householders up to three hours to get rid of the pushy salesman.
