Art that is bookish

AS part of Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival, The Gallery At Bank Quay House will be displaying an exhibition of book arts and paper craft by local artist Kate Bufton.
Kate’s work is an ongoing developmental exploration, manipulating the shape and form of old books.
By altering the original form, through various cuts and folds they are beautifully transformed from a carrier of text to an object that may be admired.
The free exhibition will open on Saturday, September 24 at 10.30am in conjunction with the opening ceremony of Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival.
Gallery curate Emma Kelly said: “We are also giving people a chance to meet Kate on Wednesday, October 26, between 6-8pm.
“She will be available to answer questions about her inspirations and discover how she produces her artwork.”
Admission is again three and refreshments will be available.
The exhibition continues until December 3.
