POLICE are appealing for witnesses after 19-year-old man suffered a broken jaw following an unprovoked assault in Warrington.
The victim was sat on a wall on Fennel Street opposite James Lee House at around 3.30am on Sunday, September 11, chatting with a friend after a night out.
The two men were approached from behind by the offender who began talking to the victim’s friend before randomly punching the 19-year-old in the face in an unprovoked attack. The offender then walked off towards Sainsburys.
At the time of the attack the victim and his friend were with a woman described as white, 5ft 6in tall, aged around 23 years with long dark hair.
Police are keen to speak to this woman as she could be a vital witness.
The offender is described as white, aged 19 to 20 years, 5ft 9in tall, of medium build with short dark hair. He was wearing a black Adidas Polo t-shirt, dark trousers and black trainers.
