Summer fun for young people

A RANGER’S cabin in a Warrington park has been given a makeover and is now the setting for young people’s summer activities.
Activities are running on Mondays at the Black Bear Park ranger’s cabin in Loushers Lane. Sessions are from 5-6pm for 8-13 year olds and from 6-8pm for 13-19 year olds.
There are a range of activities including sport and creative crafts. Initially the clubs run for six weeks, but if it goes well volunteer support may help it stay open through the autumn.
The cabin the clubs are being held in has recently been freshly painted and kitted out for the young people by Friends of Latchford Parks in conjunction with the vTalent project.
Cllr Kate Hannon, the borough council’s executive member for leisure, community and culture, said: “It is great news these weekly clubs are running over the summer holidays, and it’s good that local organisations have got together to organise this.
“These regular get-togethers will provide fun and interesting activities and I hope lots of local young people will take the chance to enjoy the clubs.”
