Have you filled in canvas form?

HOUSEHOLDS across Warrington should now have received a form to ensure they are on the electoral register.
Each year the borough council is required by law to canvass every household and produce a revised register of electors.
The forms for this year’s canvass were delivered in the last week and every household should have received one.
Although the qualifying date is October 15, residents are urged to complete their registration well before that date to avoid a knock on the door by one of the council’s electoral registration canvassers.
Alison Hughes, electoral services manager explained: “Registering to vote is vitally important. As well as not being able to vote, people who are not on the register of electors could find their credit rating is affected, meaning that they may be unable to get a bank account, a mortgage, a credit card or sign up for a mobile phone.”
The council is making it as easy as possible to register. Householders with no changes to register use a 24 hour freephone telephone service 0808 141 0748, or text 0203 137 9094, or register online at www.register-online.co.uk using the internet.
Both the phone and internet systems also allow users to add or remove their names from the edited version of the register used by mailing companies, and to request postal vote applications.
Anyone who has not received a form or who has any other questions should call 01925 442184.

  1. Another faux-pas!!!!! The numbers on the form are different to the ones above. Ring the no. on the form and the line is dead. just text the no. on the form which I now see is different, so who knows whether I am registered or not.
