Crash on M6 motorway

THE hard shoulder and one lane of the northbound carriageway of the M6 motorway, near Warrington, were closed this
afternoon after a collision involving a saloon car and a caravan which have left the carriageway.
Fire and rescue crews are working to release a person injured and trapped in the car.
Fire appliances from Stockton Heath, Knutsford and Northwich are attending the incident between the Lymm and Knutsford interchanges.
Police and Highways Agency teams are at the scene. Motorists are being advised to try and avoid the motorway in this area.
