More road works misery!

MORE major roads works are to start in Warrington next month – holding out the prospect of eight weeks of hold-ups for motorists.
The work is set to start on August 15 in Green Lane, Padgate, from Padgate Lane to Holes Lane and Blackbrook Avenue from Birchwood Way to Padgate Lane, including the roundabout on Birchwood Way.
Daily road closures will take place between 9.15am and 3.15pm to allow resurfacing of the roads.
In an attempt to minimise disruption to residents works will be carried out under restricted hours and no weekend work is planned.
A borough council spokesperson said: “A letter detailing the roadworks and alternative routes will be issued to local residents and businesses. In addition alternative routes will be clearly signposted for the duration of the roadworks.

  1. Not before bloomin time! And while they’re at it, can they remove those bloomin awful speed bumps if they’re going to reclass it as a 20mph zone in the near future

  2. About time…. in my opinion the worst road in Warrington that has been very badly maintained after untility companies digging it up and replacing the surface with bad patch jobs. They should also resuface the pavements to as in some ares are a hazard.

  3. Good to see these improvements, but do they have to do them all at once? Where will traffic go that cannot use Blackbrook Avenue? Probably down Harpers Road where we trying to dicourage people taking a short cut. What arrangements have been made by WBC as a diversion?

  4. WBC = Work By Cowboys on

About time too. Particularly down Green Lane where my car got damaged by potholes last year. It was weeks before WBC (Work By Cowboys) got their finger out to sort this!
