Motorists face delays

MOTORISTS at Warrington are being advised that as part of the ongoing A49 Winwick Road improvement works, Long Lane will be closed from 7pm on Friday August 12 until 12am on Monday August 15.
The closure will allow United Utilities, National Grid and British Telecomm shared access to install new pipes and ducts under the carriageway at the same time, reducing the impact on drivers.
The alternative route during the closure will be via the A49 Winwick Road, Lythgoes Lane, A57 Manchester Road, B5210 Woolston Grange Avenue, A574 Birchwood Way and A50 Orford Road.
A council spokeswoman said: “Every effort has been made to minimise disruption to motorists and residents.”
Further information will be available on the council’s website www.warrington.gov.uk/roadworks
