MP Helen Jones has called for prompt action from Warrington Borough Council over the three Southern Cross care homes in the borough.
She is worried because details of the landlords of the three affected properties are not existing care home proprietors.
One of the three is not based in the UK, she said.
The Warrington North MP has contacted expressed her concern to the borough council and urged them to take prompt action to reassure residents of the three homes – St Oswald’s, Callands and Three Bridges.
She said: “Now that we know that the landlords of the affected care homes are not care providers it is imperative that the council works quickly to reassure residents about the future of the homes.
“I am concerned that one of the landlords isn’t based in the UK.
“I know residents and their families will want to know that the council is working closely with the landlords to ensure that residents are protected and cared for.
“The landlords have to come to a decision about what they want to do with the homes and the sooner we know their intentions the better.”
