Get ready for the big BBQ

2

PEOPLE in Warrington are being invited to join in the Big BBQ event running throughout the town in August.
Anyone planning an event can use a free online site that has all the information, games, activities and resources they need to plan a safer and healthier barbecue.
All community groups, schools, families and individuals can join in, whether planning a small family barbecue in the garden, in the great outdoors or a community event.
By registering people are automatically entered into a prize draw for their event to be visited by Wolfie and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service. The winning group will also win a free goody pack with some essential equipment for a safer and healthier barbecue.
People are also being invited to a Big BBQ event on August 14 at Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service open day on Winwick Road. Everyone is welcome and a local community group will be dishing up tasty and healthy delights.
Cllr David Keane, the borough council’s executive member for environment and public protection, said: “At the council we are working very closely with our communities to improve food standards and advise on healthy eating.
“This is a fantastic initiative that not only encourages our communities to enjoy food together, but gives important information on how to plan such events in a healthy and nutritious way.”
Packs are free and can be accessed online at www.tswarrington.co.uk

  1. I clicked the info link… and it’s a very good website by Trading Standards. Just thought I’d mention that there is also a section for Product Recalls and if anyone has a Bosch, Neff or Siemens dishwashers ….. or a HP Notebook Computer there are two safety recalls on there for potential fire hazzard/injury problems dated June and July.
