BUSINESSES across Warrington are being encouraged to compete in the Q Hotels Corporate Challenge as part of the Spire Healthcare English Half Marathon taking place on Sunday September 18 at Victoria Park.
It is the perfect opportunity to promote teamwork and fitness within the workplace.
Exercise is a great way to help you perform better in work and it can make you more resilient to the effects of stress.
Companies can also use the event to raise much needed funds for their chosen charity.
The Corporate package includes 4 runners per team and to make the race more accessible to everyone people can run as part of a relay team.
The event has inspired the General Manager of the Park Royal Paul Gallon to don his running shoes and take part.
Paul said: “QHotels and The Park Royal are delighted to be the official sponsors of the English Half Marathon Corporate Challenge. This is a great event for both Warrington and for all the charities who benefit from the fundraising efforts of the participants. In the last two years alone over £300,000 has been raised for hundreds of charities and I hope that once again businesses around Warrington will rise to the challenge and enter their teams into the race.
“It is a great opportunity to use fitness as a team building incentive and at the same time raise much needed funds for many deserving causes. The QHotels charity of choice for 2011 is Asthma UK so I have decided to bite the bullet and have signed up to be part of The Park Royal Team and hopefully complete my first ever half marathon – now I guess I need to get down the gym and start training!”
Runners also receive t-shirts with company and charity logos on, invites to the pre and post race party and opportunities for advertising and marketing.
