THE new president of the Rotary Club of Warrington aims to embrace the club’s motto “Service Above Self.”
Jim Melville, aged 63, of Stockton Heath, who has held a number of offices at the club in the past 14 years, has taken the post.
This year the club’s aim again is to support local, regional and international charities including Active Hope, Life Education, St Joseph’s Family Centre and Raising the Roof For Ghana.
The Warrington Oktoberfest Beer Festival is the main fundraiser for the charities, although many other smaller events are arranged.
Jim said: “I intend to use my year of office to further help both the local community and wider charitable causes by encouraging members and their friends to join me by offering their services to help those in need by whatever it takes.”
