New golf chief

A NEW director of golf has been appointed at Warrington’s Walton Hall golf course.
Paul Hodgson, a Class A PGA professional, takes up the post after more than 12 years experience in the profession and a wealth of coaching expertise.
He is currently studying for his advanced professional diploma and has worked with several top class coaches, developing skills to deliver simple and effective coaching for all levels of golfer. He is offering individual or group lessons, video lessons and junior coaching.
Paul has competed in a number of national PGA events as well as regional competitions and Pro-Ams alongside club members.
He said: “I’m really looking forward to the challenge of this new role and to working with everyone to make Walton Hall golf course an even bigger success.
“Thanks to golf course designers like Peter Allis and Dave Thomas, the quality of the course should speak for itself.”
Warrington Borough Council recently appointed Golfstorehouse Ltd to operate the course. The company aims to provide new services at the club including a fully stocked shop, quality tuition, events, equipment hire and repairs.
