CHILDREN from St Lewis’ RC Primary School, Croft, near Warrington, had a day of celebration with a French theme to mark the opening of an £8,000 play area.
The school celebrated St Lewis’ (of France) birthday with a mass at their church, a teachers v pupils quiz, a French lunch and a treasure hunt. In the afternoon parishioners were invited to afternoon tea.
During the day the new play area, funded by the PTA, was officially opened by Fr Ron Johnson. The new area, on the school playground, features a range of equipment including monkey bars, scramble net and balancing log.
One of the teachers, Miss Louise Norton said: “The new play area is absolutely fabulous. The children are really enjoying it and it is keeping them busy.”
