WARRINGTON Town Football Club will host one of the biggest days in the local junior football calendar later this month.
Cantilever Park will host four cup finals in one day on Saturday May 14, in a joint venture between the club and the Warrington Junior League.
It will be the final round of games to be played on the pitch before work commences on laying a new surface.
The league is one of the biggest in the country and currently has teams from Warrington, Widnes, Runcorn, St Helens and Wigan competing.
The day will begin at 9am when the turn styles will open in preparation for the Under 9’s Auxilliary cup final, which kicks off at 10am. At 11am, the Under 9’s Challenge Cup final starts followed by the Under 10’s Auxiliary final at noon. Rounding off the day will be the Under 10’s Challenge cup final at 1pm.
A trophy presentation will take place at 2pm when the winning teams will be honoured. The finalists will be known after the semi-finals have been played this weekend.
Entrance is free, with food, soft drinks and entertainment being provided throughout the day.
This is a first for the club and it is hoped the two parties can build a strong friendship in the future.
