Nursing home blaze

RESIDENTS were evacuated from a nursing home at Warrington after fire broke out in a hairdressing salon within the building.
The blaze was at the Green Park nursing home at Great Sankey yesterday afternoon.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze with two hose reel jets.
No-one was hurt and all occupants of the home had been accounted for and evactuated from the area of the incident prior to fire crews reaching the scene.
A ventilation unit was used to clear heavy smoke from the premises.
In a separate incident, a fire engine was sent to Barrow Hall Lane, Great Sankey after reports of a tree on fire. The blaze was extinguished by firefighters using a hose reel jet.
