Shed fire spreads to house

A FIRE involving a garden shed at Warrington spread to the adjoining house, damaging a window frame and filling a room with dense smoke.
The blaze was at a house in Orford Avenue, Orford yesterday (Wednesday).
Two fire engines were sent to the scene and firefighters tackled the blaze with a hose reel jet.
They used a ventilation unit to remove smoke from the room involved.
Cause of the blaze has not been revealed, but the fire started inside a garden shed.
In a separate incident, fire crews were called to Farrell Street, Warrington where an area of grass and scrubland about 20m by 5m was alight. The blaze was extinguished with a water back pack and beaters.
Fire crews were also called to Lymm Road, Little Bollington where dry grass inside a combine harvester had ignited. The blaze was extinguished with a hose reel jet.
