WARRINGTON Libraries have become the first in the UK to launch a new iPhone application that allows users to search the library catalogue and renew books by the click of a button.
The application is free to download and even allows users to log into their account and place items on hold.
The launch of the application is part of the council’s plans to use digital technology to modernise local library services and make them more accessible to its customers.
Martin Gaw, head of culture, libraries and heritage at the borough council said, “Library services and public expectations are changing so we are proud to be the first council in the UK to offer this unique iPhone application to our residents.
“It is a really handy way for book lovers to access the Warrington Libraries catalogue and manage their account when they are on the go.
“It is part of our drive to use innovative digital technology to modernise our services and make them more accessible to future generations of library users. “We would encourage residents to download the free BookMyne application today and give it a go!”
To download the BookMyne application, visit the iTunes store online.
