FIRE caused extensive damage to a semi-detached house at Warrington – spreading through the roof-space to the property next door.
The blaze was in Malpas Drive, Great Sankey last night and five fire appliances, including two hydraulic platforms, were called to the scene.
Fire crews from Stockton Heath, Birchwood, Runcorn and Widnes were involved in the operation because Warrington crews were dealing with a major barn fire at Knutsford.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze with one main jet and one hosereel. The hydraulic platforms were used to help with cooling down operations.
Cause of the blaze was a faulty tumble drier.
