Quiz night
STOCKTON Heath Lions will be holding a quiz night at St Mary Magdelene’s Church Hall, Dingle Way, Appleton, on April 15 in support of Warrington Young Carers. Supper included in the ticket price of £6. Doors open at 7pm.

Hospital lottery
WINNING numbers in the weekly lottery run by the League of Friends of Warrington Hospital were 1, 2, 4 and 10. The jackpot prize went unclaimed and will be rolled-over to next week. A consolation prize of £25 was awarded to a member of hospital staff.

New boiler
GRAPPENHALL and Thelwall Parish Council is to replace an ageing and unreliable boiler in their offices.

Brass plaque
AN engraved brass plaque is to be placed on the old-style red telephone box in Thelwall. The inscription will read: “This telephone box is sponsored by Grappenhall and Thelwall Parish Council, 2010.”

Extension refused
PLANS for a two storey side and rear extension, alterations to a conservatory and construction of a new porch at a house in Bramshill Close, Birchwood, have been rejected by Warrington planners.

Farm building
PLANS for a steel framed agricultural building at Cliff Lane Farm, Cartridge Lane, Grappenhall, have been given the go-ahead.
