Man arrested after robbery

POLICE at Warrington today revealed that a man has been arrested following a robbery on Friday evening.
Just after 7pm on Friday, a man entered McColl’s newsagents in Gorsey Lane, armed with a knife and demanded that staff hand over cash from the till.
Three female members of staff were uninjured but were badly shaken by the incident.
In the hours that followed the robbery, detectives arrested a 44-year-old local man on suspicion of robbery. He has been questioned but has now been freed on bail pending further investigation.
