Dam given clean bill of health

WELL known local beauty spot Lymm Dam has been given a clean bill of health after an Environment Agency inspection and clean up at the request of Bay Malton Angling Club.
The EA sent a three man team and a boat with the object of removing all the discarded fishing line, hooks etc from overhanging trees and bushes around the lake.
They spent five hours removing a huge amount of fishing debris which has accumulated over the years.
While they were on the water they also took sonar depth readings and checked on fish stocks around the underwater fish protection cages that they had put in some months earlier.
From all accounts the lake is in a pretty healthy state and with the right management, will continue to be so, well into the future.
Many thanks from Bay Malton Angling Club fisheries development department to the Environment Agency for all their help and advice.
