A WARRINGTON author has published her first two books – one illustrated by a local student.
“Imagine That” is a fantasy novel based in the magical world of “Azulia” written by Danielle Moriarty.
“Caelia” is a fantasy novelette written by Danielle also based in Azulia and illustrated by 15-year-old Cardinal Newman High School student Azure Townsend.
Author Danielle says she has always lived in “a dream world” and written down random ideas and snippets of stories on scraps of paper. The idea of Azulia has been in her mind for years.
Following a head injury that confined Danielle to bed rest she thought more about the idea, and later wrote the works.
Danielle, 36, is a freelance fantasy author and poet born in Warrington. Her parents Margaret and Raymond had four children and she says bedtime stories were a “must” in the household.
She now lives with her partner and two children and now says her inspirations are Stephen King and Terry Pratchett.
Imagine That tells a tale of havoc in the fantasy world of Azulia including mysterious eggs hiding themselves in sunny coves and buildings springing to life and moving around town. Despite the King and Queen’s best efforts the kingdom literally falls apart.
Caelia is a series of short stories from the kingdom, as told by villagers.
