Shortage of finance workers

A WARRINGTON agency is having difficult finding accountancy staff – which it says indicates the strength of the town’s employment market.
Accountancy recruiter RK Accountancy says it is finding it difficult to identify finance workers.
Operations manager Jo Arnold said: “We have immediate openings for all sectors of finance staff. We are in particular need of accounts assistants, purchase ledger clerks, credit controllers and payroll people.”
Jo said the town loses out on the hunt for finance professionals as many people feel they will get higher wages if they travel to Manchester. But she said differences can be negligible and there is little financial gain when the cost of travel is taken into account.
The agency says that opportunities are up 25 per cent on this time last year, and that things are really looking positive for the region.
