MP's backing for cancer charity

WARRINGTON North MP Helen Jones is supporting a leading cancer charity’s campaign to raise awareness of screening for bowel cancer.
Beating Bowel Cancer’s 2012 Challenge has made excellent progress in its efforts to increase the number of lives saved from the UK’s second biggest killer.
The campaign hopes to raise awareness and increase the number of screening programmes among 60-75 year olds.
Ms Jones (pictured) said: “I will be seeking information from the local authority as to what support this campaign can expect in my constituency. With only 50 per cent of those eligible participating in screening, it is imperative funding is safeguarded to save lives.”
