POLICE at Warrington today appealed for information following an attack on a 20-year-old man resulting in him suffering serious cuts to his face.
The attack took place at about 9.30pm on Saturday (February 19) when the victim was outside the Railway Club, Winwick Street.
Two boys outside the perimeter fence of the club started to verbally abuse him and then two other teenagers appeared. One of the youngsters punched the victim, knocking him to the ground.
The victim suffered a deep cut above his top lip, believed to be as a result of broken glass, as well as a laceration to his chin and wounds to both his cheeks. The offenders ran off.
Detective Constable Dave Thomason from Warrington CID said: “The victim is going to need surgery to the laceration above his lip, which is very deep.
“There would have been a lot of people around at the time and I am keen to speak to anyone that may have seen these teenagers outside the club or witnessed the actual assault.”
One of the offenders is described as, 5ft 6in to 5ft 7in tall, aged around 15, with a fair but slightly tanned complexion. He had fair shaved hair, a grey hooded top and dark bottoms and spoke with a Warrington accent.
