Book exchange scheme planned

0

A BOOK exchange scheme is to be launched at Appleton Parish Hall – subject to the availability of volunteers to run it.
The scheme – which would initially be run as a trial – will be started with books supplied by the borough council as a one-off starter pack.
Users will be encouraged to donate unwanted books to enlarge the stock.
Members of two Women’s Institutes who hold their meetings at the hall are to be asked if they would be prepared to act as volunteers.
Appleton Parish Council will fund any shelving, storage cupboards, etc., required for the scheme, which is intended to fill the gap left when the mobile library service ceases at the end of March.
