A DRUG dealer jailed for four years at Warrington has been ordered to pay £230 of his profits.
Jamie Haining, 23, of Brindley Avenue, Latchford, Warrington was said to have benefited to the extent of £700 from his crimes.
But, a Proceeds of Crime Act hearing at Warrington Crown Court heard he had available assets of only £230.
The court heard Haining was arrested in March last year after officers went to his home on an unrelated matter.
They searched his house and found a large quantity of cocaine, along with a quantity of cash.
He was subsequently charged with possessing drugs with intent to supply and burglary and jailed for a total of four years.
Now he has been ordered to forfeit the £230 found in his possession.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “This case should serve as a warning to others that crime really does not pay.”

Crime DOES pay then. He has the rest of his life to repay the difference.
What sort of a message does this send out?
If crime pays, I reckon it pays much better that what’s claimed here. Where do they get this crud from. Does anyone seriously believe that a drug dealer come burglar nets just £700 as his total career proceeds of crime. Was he a rank amateur or was this a kid on some kind of school project. Unbelievable.
In a number of Far East countries, possession by a drugs dealer of even small quantities of cocaine results in a mandatory death sentence, so £230 seems an exceptional let off compared to the bullet or the rope.
Drug dealers should only get two options of punishment lookingfromafar……. the bullet OR the rope. They are the scum of the earth and the Police and courts are far too soft on them
