Beware of cyber bullies

PARENTS and carers in Warrington are being urged by MP Helen Jones to be aware of cyber bullying.
To mark Safer Internet Day, the Warrington North MP asks people to ensure their children are not victims of bullying via the Internet or mobile phones.
She advises concerned parents to contact the charity Beatbullying UK and its websites, beatbullying.org.uk and cybermentors.org
Research has found that 30 per cent of 11 to 16 year olds have been cyber bullied. The charity aims to tackle bullying, violence and harassment across any medium.
The MP said: “This is an important campaign from a very worthwhile charity. I hope that parents, carers, older siblings and teachers will take a few moments to visit the website and look out for signs of bullying.
“The charity also offers advice on steps to take to help children and stop the bullying. The safety of children in Warrington is of paramount concern and I fully support Beatbullying.”
