POLICE investigating the death of Carl Chadwick at Warrington have moved a “mobile police station” into the area to enable officers to peak to the local community and provide reassurance.
The Cheshire Police vehicle moved on to the car park at the Greenwood Pub on Greenwood Crescent today and will be there tomorrow (Wednesday). It is open for business between 12 noon and 7pm.
Detectives are hoping locals will use the opportunity to share any information they may have about Carl, in particular when they last saw him.
Carl, 40, (pictured) was found dead at his flat on Grasmere Avenue, Orford, on Saturday January 29. He had been stabbed and strangled.
Police believe that robbery may have been a motive for his murder and it is suspected that several thousand pounds may have been taken from his flat following his death.
Detective Inspector Nigel Wenham, who is leading the investigation, said:
“We are hoping that by providing a visual presence in the area, people will use this opportunity to talk to officers – no matter how insignificant you think your information may be I urge you to pass it onto my staff as it could be that little nugget we are looking for.
“I also hope the community feel reassured that we are determined to catch whoever murdered Carl. I am doing everything I can to get justice for his family and friends but I need the public to help me.”
A 32-year-old man and 29-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of murder and have been bailed until March 8 pending further enquiries.
