Murder victim named

POLICE have now named the man found dead at a flat Warrington at the weekend.
He was Carl Chadwick, aged 40 and his body was discovered at his flat in Grasmere Avenue, Orford, at around 1pm on Saturday (January 29).
Detectives are appealing for information from the local community. A 32-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman had been arrested on suspicion of murder but then released on bail pending further investigation.
A post mortem concluded Mr Chadwick died as a result of strangulation and a stab wound and it is thought his death may have taken place a number of days before his body was discovered.
Detective Inspector Nigel Wenham said: I am confident that the answers I need to find out who was responsible for the murder of Carl lies within the local community. “We know that Carl was well known in the Orford area. He was a regular at the Greenwood pub. He regularly visited the shops on Greenwood Crescent and also Capesthorne Road near to his home.
” I am keen to piece together Carl’s movements, in particular during the past two weeks leading up to his death. I would appeal to anyone who has seen Carl during this period or has other any information to come forward. This investigation is very much in the early stages and although two people have been arrested, enquiries are ongoing and we feel strongly that members of the local community could hold vital information.
” Carl sustained an injury to his head a number of years ago and was somewhat vulnerable in that this head injury caused him a degree of memory loss, making some everyday tasks more difficult. That said, Carl lived a full and independent life and our thoughts remain with his family at this sad and difficult time.”
