A MURDER investigation has been launched after a man was found dead in a flat in Warrington.
Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently in police custody – a 32-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman.
A post mortem has revealed the man died as a result of asphyxia and a stab wound.
Police were called to a flat in Grasmere Avenue, Orford at around 1pm on Saturday (January 29) where the body of a 40-year old man was discovered.
His family have been informed but formal identification has yet to take place.
A police spokeswoman said: “Investigations are in the very early stages, and police are appealing to anyone who may have any information about this incident.”

i new the lad from when i used to dj one of the local pubs and all he wanted to do was to dance he never had a bad bone in his body when i found out about the news i could not beleve it how some one could target such a nice lad and take his life from him he gave so much fun to all in the pub even with the medication he took we just took him for what he was a star locked in his own little world its a sad lose and i hope them involed get what is comeing to them R.I.P
Nice sentiments B Fletcher….. unfortunately there is no justice in this country for murder and if it is murder, those responsible will enjoy a cushy life inside at the taxpayers expense and look forward to an early release….. where murder is involved; it is the victims family get the real life sentence.
