Artists show their inner self

AN exhibition of original artwork bringing together the talents of three local artists opens at the Gallery at Bank Quay House, Warrington on January 21.
Entitled, “Self”, the exhibition enables the three artists using various mediums of expresses, including 3D, textiles and printmaking, to explore their own themes.
Nicola Billington, a tutor at Warrington Collegiate, uses collaging materials, found images and text, working over the surface with paint, stitching and drawings, to produce a visual diary.
“Self” to Nicola is about self realisation, self direction, self fulfilment and self discovery.
Christine Evans is a printmaker who has always been interested in line quality and loose mark making. Her content is everyday things in front of her, either in regular surroundings or while travelling. The outcomes become personal snapshots and souvenirs of her life.
Carys Anne Hughes works with a variety of materials to communicate a narrative that is both personal and universal. Her media consists of rejected toys, dolls, and cloth selected by way of serendipity and often the story is entwined in their history or what Carys interprets as their history.
The exhibition continues until March 1.
