MORE than £5,000 was collected by the Rotary Club of Lymm during the Christmas period.
A Santa float toured Lymm and Thelwall collecting funds to benefit community organisations, local charities and overseas aid.
Despite some freezing weather and on occasions heavy snowfalls, Santa managed to get around most of the planned routes – only missing out on The Cross and on one night when the weather was too severe.
A club spokesman said: “We apologise to anyone who did not get a visit from Santa and would like to thank all those residents who contributed so generously.”
