WARRINGTON Town have been drawn away to near neighbours and F.A Cup giant killers Northwich Victoria in the semi-finals of the Cheshire Cup.
The match will take place at Northwich on Tuesday January 18, kick off 7.45pm, with the winners facing a possible showdown witth Conference team Altrincham, who have still to play their semi-final against Runcorn Linnets, who will play the winners of Alsager Town and Woodley Sports, who are also still to play their semi-final tie.
It means Warrington’s proposed league game away at Prescot Cables being postponed and moved to Tuesday April 19, kick off 7.45pm.
The mouth watering semi-final clash is Warrington’s first semi-final for many years but it will be a tough tie to win against the former Conference outfit who knocked Charlton out of the FA Cup in the 1st round proper last season, before being relegated to the Evo-Stik Premier Division for financial irregularities.
But first Warrington have some important league fixtures as they continue to push for promotion, when they take on fellow play-off contenders Lancaster City at Cantilever Park, tomorrow, Saturday, kick off 3pm.
Warrington are also in league action at home to Ossett Albion next Tuesday, January 11, kick off 7.45pm followed by a difficult trip to Mossley next Saturday.
