Police hunt for hit and run driver

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a hit and run incident involving a pedal cyclist at Lymm, Warrington on Monday night.
The incident occured at around 10.40pm on December 27 when a pedal cyclist was travelling along Barsbank Lane in Lymm in the tunnel that passes under the Bridgewater Canal towards Star Lane. He was struck by a passing car, similar in size to a Volkswagen Golf or similar and dark coloured. The driver of the car did not stop at the scene.
The pedal cyclist, a 63-year-old man from Lymm, was taken to hospital and treated for head injuries.
Police are making extensive enquiries to trace the driver of the car and appeal to anyone who has any information to contact PC Rick Hooley at Warrington Traffic Unit on 0845 458 0000.Similarly, officers appeal to the driver of the car to come forward and contact Police.
