POWER supplies were disrupted to a number of homes in Warrington after an explosion in an electricity sub-station.
The incident was in a disused warehouse in Dallam Lane and was caused by a malfunction in a transformer.
Fire crews were called to the scene and tackled a fire using a dry powder extinguisher. The surrounding area was sealed off while engineers from Scottish Power dealt with the situation.
Power supplies were normalised after a short time.
