Death of local minister

THE death has occurred of the Rev Norman Huyton, former minister at Elmwood Avenue United Reformed Church, Warrington.
Mr Huyton was minister at the church for more than 30 years and was also active in public life in the town for most of that time.
He was UK chaplain to the Burtonwood Association and led the annual service in memory of those who lost their lives in the Battle of Britain for more than 30 years.
He also served as police chaplain in Warrington and was a member of a number of local organisations.
Mr Huyton is understood to have been unwell for some time. He died in hospital on Saturday (December 18).
