Hospital lottery
WINNING numbers in the weekly lottery run by the League of Friends of Warrington Hospital were 3, 5, 7 and 16. Two winners shared the jackpot prize and received £243.50 each.
A member of the hospital staff won the £25 consolation prize and three special Christmas £50 prizes were awarded – two to hospital staff and one to a visitor.

Book sale
A SALE of older library books, DVDs, CDs, etc is to take place at Culcheth Library from Thursday, January 20 to Tuesday, January 25, during normal library opening hours. Bargains will be available from prices as low as a few pence.

Carol concert
A CAROL concert is to take place at the Hawthorn Community Centre, Orford, Warrington tomorrow (Sunday). It starts at 2.30pm and mince pies will be served.

Moving service
MIDNIGHT Communion for worshippers at St Oswald’s Church, Winwick, on Christmas Eve will be moved to St Peter’s Church, Newton-le-Willows because of work being carried on the church ceiling. The service will start at 11.30pm.

Help for hero
PUPILS at St Elphin’s CE Primary School, Howley, raised £200 for local soldier Tom Coleridge who was serious injured while serving in Afghanistan by selling Christmas cards they had designed themselves.

Police survey
A POLICE survey at Great Sankey, Warrington, carried out during a three hour period one morning, revealed that 33 drivers had left their cars on the drive with the keys in the ignition with the engine running. Laptops and handbags had also been left in the cars.
