Simon's perfect performance

A STUDENT from Warrington has discovered he was the number one student in the country for English Literature this year – scoring an unprecedented 400 marks from a possible 400.
The aptly-named Simon Perfect, aged 18, from Fearnhead, is now studying history at Cambridge University.
Simon (pictured) completed his A-Levels at Priestley College, Warrington and landed four of the new A* grades in English, History, Biology and Chemistry, as well as a further A8 in the Extended Project qualification.
He said: “I’m still pretty surprised about the result and, looking back, I put it down to a combination of the support I got at Priestley and my own independent work.
“Going to Priestley has been one of the best decisions I ever made and prepared me for university in many different ways. On an academic note, I doubt that I would have got to Cambridge had it not been for the support the tutors gave me through the application process.”
While at Priestley, Simon was a leading member of the college community, being a member of the College Council, History Society and Christian Union. He also completed the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
