PUPILS and staff at Penketh High School are looking forward to their first film festival which will be held at the Odeon cinema in Westbrook, Warrington, next week.
The event will showcase the best student films produced at the school over the last 10 months and awards are to be presented for best film, director, actor and actress.
The centrepiece of the evening is the premiere of a sitcom called The Workplace which was written by Chris Harrison, a Year 13 student.
Chris created the series early last year and with the help of Red Rose Media it became a reality.
Creative and media leader Jonathon Kay said: “After eight months of production for two episodes we are proud to be showing them for the first time on the Odeon’s cinema screen.”
The first Penketh Film Festival starts at 7pm on Tuesday (December 14).
Penketh High School has already made a name for itself in the movie world by producing two full-length feature films.
