Major gas leak on expressway

FIRE crews from Warrington and Runcorn were called out to deal with a major gas leak on the Daresbury Expressway near Warrington.
An 18 inch medium pressure gas main had collapsed.
The road was closed for a time while repair work was carried out by emergency crews.
The thaw following the extremely cold weather is believed to have caused the collapse.
