Police probe arson attack

POLICE are investigating after an arson attack on a car parked on the owner’s drive at Warrington.
The early hours incident was in Honister Avenue, Orford and the car was badly damaged.
Flames also spread to the house, causing damage to the front door.
A firefighter who attended the scene said there was potential for the blaze to have spread inside the house and up the stairs.
Two firefighters tackled the blaze, wearing breathing apparatus and using a hosereel. But the engine compartment of the car was badly damaged and the windscreen shattered.
The fire was shortly after 4am.
